Dear Parents and Loved Ones of Missionaries Serving in the California Carlsbad Mission:

Some of you may have heard of the earth quake in Chile last night and the remote possibility of a tsnamii hitting Southern California today. According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, we are not under any warning, watch or advisory (ptwc.weather.gov) but there may be some contrary reports out there. I have been told by locals that this particular section of Southern California has a natural protection against tsunamis because of strategically placed coastal islands and a barrier reef, nevertheless we will continue to monitor the government website.

I have called our coastal zones and asked each missionary to re-read our emergency preparedness plan before leaving to work today. If you have any questions, please respond to this email.
